AbOuT Us

It all started one summer evening 15 years ago out east visiting my grandfather’s house. My brother-in-law, sister and I were sitting around the kitchen table playing grandpa’s favorite card game, Crazy 8’s. We started talking about the things grandpa would do if he could turn back time. I remember him saying he would have bought all of Queen Street, a very popular street in Toronto.

It struck us right away, we need to start purchasing land!

Two months later, my father, my brother-in-law & I started looking for land, and let me tell you, we stumbled across the most beautiful 5-acre property.

Before purchasing the land, we ran into some financial burdens, so my father (Kevin) came to the rescue and helped me secure this land. We did everything we could to secure this land, including scaring away potential buyers, which felt scandalous back then we did what we had to. WE SECURED THE LAND!

After purchasing the 5 acres, I randomly just started saving and finding items that could be reused, recycled, reused, anything that could be saved from the landfill. I started to pile up everything I had saved; trailers, RVs, campers, sheds, you name it, out on this property. Year after year I would continue to save treasures from going to the dump. It became a hobby, and new hobbies emerged. I started enjoying re-creating junk into art or something repurposed. Giving new life to everyday junk items.

Skipping to 2021, having time on my hands because of COVID-19 rules and restrictions, I started picking a lot more. Everything started piling up and I figured that I must come up with something new, something to do with all the treasures I have been collecting over the years.

I felt like I had to come up with something essential.

Something brilliant.

Something affordable.

Something realistic.

Today, thanks to many kind souls that made it possible, we have Odds & Endz.

Canada’s first online mobile thrift store.
